WILLIAMSBURG -- Diana D'Alessio, an eight-year-LPGA veteran from New Jersey, fired a 6-under-par 65 this morning to take the early clubhouse lead on the first day of the $2.2 million Michelob Ultra Open. D'Alessio's round on the 6,315-yard Kingsmill Resort River Course included an eagle from the fairway at No. 16, a 405-yard par-4. She holed a 7-iron from 134 yards. Mhairi McKay was 7-under through 15. Annika Sorenstam was 5-under through 12. Conditions were ideal for scoring. The air was cool and still and the greens were soft after a steady early-morning rain.
