March 2, 2007. Orlando, Florida. Elite Golf Management client and 2007 LPGA Tour rookie, Kristy McPherson, this week captured the Florida Women's Open at Rio Pinar Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The Conway, South Carolina golfer amassed a 54-hole score of 210, edging Futures Tour members Allison Fouch of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Danielle Downey of Spencerport, New York by two shots.
The win by McPherson is expected to give her added confidence heading into her third LPGA Tour event of the season this week in Mexico City, Mexico. Last season, McPherson competed on the Duramed Futures Tour, winning twice and finishing 4th on that Tour's Money List. The top 5 players earned LPGA Tour exempt cards for 2007.
